A shared programme should not depend on the head coach being in the room
Once several coaches teach the same programme, a notebook or group chat stops being a reliable handover. iRoll BJJ keeps the curriculum, upcoming lessons and teaching record connected to the classes already on your timetable.
How curriculum planning works
-
1
Build curricula from modules and reusable lesson plans.
-
2
Assign each curriculum to the class types that follow it.
-
3
Coaches open the planned lesson from their Teaching Schedule and adapt that class when needed.
-
4
Record what was covered, review Curriculum Coverage and optionally share a Class Recap with attendees.
What you get
For the academy
- Organise separate programmes for fundamentals, advanced, kids, gi or no-gi classes.
- Base programmes on weekly themes or set detailed daily classes.
- See planned lessons and recorded teaching across the timetable.
- Handle substitute lessons and classes that did not run without losing the programme's place.
- Automatically share Class Recaps with attendees.
- Let owners and admins control the programme while coaches focus on delivering the class.
For your members
- Receive a useful Class Recap when the academy enables sharing and they checked in.
- Review the lesson objective and member-visible material the coach recorded as covered.
- Keep coach-only notes and private teaching material out of the member recap.
BJJ curriculum FAQs
Academy owners and admins manage the source curriculum and assignments. Coaches can open published lessons for the classes they teach, record what they covered and adapt an individual class when needed.
No. You choose which class types follow a curriculum, so open mats, competition sessions or other classes can stay outside the programme.
Yes. iRoll BJJ does not prescribe one coaching method. Lesson plans can include constraint games, positional sparring, positions, techniques, drills and coach notes, so you can structure classes around your academy's preferred approach.
Yes. Assignments keep their own place in the programme, and you can choose weekly progression or progression on each class date.
The coach can record a different lesson or mark that the class did not run, so the teaching record reflects what happened without silently losing the planned lesson.
No. Class Recaps are optional. After the academy enables sharing, an eligible recap is available only to members who checked in to that class.
Structure for the programme, freedom for the coach
A BJJ class rarely follows a script perfectly. The group may need another round on one position, a substitute coach may step in or tonight's class may need different material. iRoll BJJ gives everyone a shared direction without pretending software should make coaching decisions.
